Rent The Runway Retail

Store Experience

The clothing rental company realized that although they had thousands of customer reviews, women were still apprehensive about renting without trying on. The solution was to take the virtual closet off line and create retail stores in our top rental cities. I helped design and create the first stores.

Georgetown

The location on M Street was ideal, but the unique space created many challenges. Not only was the entry through a long hallway, but it also came with exposed stone, unfinished ceilings and a tricky layout.

Chicago

Our Chicago store was located in the Gold Coast. We updated the layout based on learnings from our previous store by putting the fitting rooms in the middle of the space surrounded by merchandise.

"Dressing rooms outfitted with selfie mirrors and iPad minis are just some of the shopping perks that will adorn the new Rent the Runway retail store in Chicago."

The simple site experience allowed customers to see the store offerings and book an appointment with a stylist at any of our three locations.
